Recently drove 4000 kms in three weeks on often lousy roads while criss-crossing Sri Lanka. Saw around one hundred elephants in addition to crocodiles, wild pigs, monkeys, water buffalo, deer, mongoose, snakes, bats, lizards, spiders and many bird species. Virtually no other foreign tourists. Photographed each morning by waking up at 5AM, then drove all day the heat to reach the next destination before sunset. Nicest people I've met while traveling - Christians, Muslims, Buddists and Hindus alike. Wanted more photos of soldiers, but they're extremely wary of journalists and will confiscate your camera.
