Ideas for SEPTEMBER Challenge

Post Tue Aug 28, 2018 11:42 am

We can do more Scavenger hunts or something else. Let us know your ideas here.
I like the Scavenger Hunt concept. Gives me a lot of flexibility.
Carol's suggestion from email - "How about Primary Colors, Red, Blue, Yellow? Jazz it up with various points of view".

Our open less restricted challenges seem to be getting bigger results in participants and the last two have been great so I would opt to stick to Scavenger Hunt
with everybody adding ideas into the salad bowl then select from there. Of course Carol's primary colours can be included. I will be absent for part of the month and the October as well but will post when I can. I've been ill for two weeks and unable to leave the house...well bed really, which made my stored photos a blessing
My five would be
Seasonal Change
Transportation
Celebration
What I ate today
Monochrome

Scavenger list - I think is great! How about the below as one for the list...

Opposites or Opposites Attract - so each 'theme' would be for 2 to 3 images (so 2-3 days) - any subject could work.

Example: Hot / Cold and if someone wanted they could do a 3rd image that has both hot and cold, could be a manipulated of the 2 images taken or a new image showing both hot and cold...
Fire / Ice / fire melting the ice...
Soft / Hard
Wet / Dry
Fast/Slow
Happy/Sad
Dark/light
Sun/moon
color/monochrome
tiny/huge (bug, large animal,...bug on large animal for 3rd-could be done with the 2 images in photoshop or new image (flies on horses is easy to find!)

maybe a bit too complicated???

Primary colors work too, that is pretty open subject...I did the colors one a few years back and it was fun and nonrestrictive.

Hope you feel better Laine!

I like how Carol had the poem/haiku theme throughout her PAD...
Like the idea of doing a PAD in which participants pick their own personal theme for the month...Maybe that would work for a future month-perhaps Christmas when people are really busy.

I also like that OLDER images could be used! I found some old images I never had never 'processed' from RAW before...so was able to use them.

Every one is encouraged to do their own "theme" or "spin" on the Hunt if they want.
I think I would not be able to keep up with any themes that are complicated. Even Primary Colors. I haven't seen any except for a red stop sign. I don't know where I would find 30 things in primary colors.
I work 60 hours a week and often take my photos on my 30 min lunch break with a sandwich in my car. Jean and Dennis are mostly house-bound. Looks like Laine is house-bound too. Christine (Larose) takes her photos in the woods/field where she does research. Those themes are good for a weekend challenge but are quite complicated to do this every day for 30 days.

But, anyone can add their own "theme" to the Scavenger Hunt. I really enjoed Carol's poems. AND I do like the idea of each picking their own theme for December.

SO, FLO's Opposites Attract subjects are great. Let's put them all on the list. We can choose to do one/both.

Carol's

RED
BLUE
YELLOW
DIFFERENT POV
POEM/HAIKU/SONG TITLE

My 5

SQUARE FORMAT
DUTCH ANGLE/TILT
THE END
SOMETHING SPECIAL
ACTION SHOT - MOVEMENT

I really enjoy the Scavenger Hunts and there have been superb images posted for the 'Challenge' as well as PAD and PESO images.
Many moons ago we had a 'four colour' month, seven days each of red, blue, green and yellow plus two/three wild cards.
The Haiku Month was great too, also moons ago.
As Lynn suggests a Scavenger Hunt with one's own twist or theme would be perfect.
Like Laine we, too, will be away on and off over the next few weeks and will post when possible.
Thank you to everyone who has visited and commented on my recent posts.
Chris

Scavenger Hunt is fine with me, too. And, if we can, we could add a theme.
Thanks Lynn. Whatever others want is fine with me.

So I know I am the new kid on the block so just some thoughts here…
I like the “Scavenger Hunt” idea but having so many or adding more though it sounds good but...
Maybe since it seems people have a lot of things coming up where they're going be doing other things. I know I have a lot of stuff coming up.

We could make a list say 48 or 60 ideas divide that into 4 lists use those for a “scavenger hunts for the next 4 months through the end of the year!
That way we try all the ideas but just work on 12 or 15 ideas at a time, but over time explore them all, because they all are cool in their own way!

January we could do a theme of “How cold/warm is it where you are” challenge”
February could be Who or what do you Love? challenge!
March could be “Best of…your choice” challenge.

Just tossing that out there…

If there are any from the August list that you didn't get to do, and want to do.... let's add it to the September list.

I don’t really have anything to add to the list because they’ve mostly already come up and a lot I would have never thought of that are brilliant,
but the carry overs I’d like to see are…

Then & Now
My neck of the woods
A Guilty Pleasure
People
And of course! Humorous, because if you’re not having fun you're doing it wrong! ;-)

I think it is perfectly ok to re-do some from prior lists. We have our favorites, or ones that we missed but found interesting.
