There were really many very nice shots entered in this contest. It was very difficult to eliminate a number of photographs to narrow the field down to the final selections. I started my process by taking three dozen initial images and placing them in a folder and start sorting them; in most cases I do not know who’s photograph is who’s unless there is a water mark in the image. When there is only one judge for a contest like this, the final selections come down to personal preference. I hope you like my selections.

I just love this image of Swimming by Peter. Great composition here, the reflections of the subject in the water as well as her arms visible beneath the water lead your eye to the subject’s eyes.

Such wonderfully sharp image of this Swan. The lovely red colors against the black of the feathers make for a terrific composition.

This image fascinates me! I love the depth of field here, the dark background really makes this image pop. Great color and dynamic range as well as the framing of the eye really made this a winner in my opinion. Congratulations Juan!
