I put together a triptych which you can see at:

(The supporting, individual images are at: http://www.pbase.com/rsilfverberg/gallery_iii)

Check it out and let me know if you like it.

Also - would love to hear from anyone else who have trip/dip photos posted here.

Details are lost...

Post Sun Sep 21, 2003 3:01 pm

Hi there!
I don't exactly know what a 'triptych' is, but I guess it's an image where you've placed three photos in the same one. I like it very much, but the problem is that the details are lost when doing images like these. IMO, the individual images that you linked to are better. Your images are great as they already are, don't merge them together like this.

I think it's a great triptych, Richard. It's true that with the size limitation, some details are lost. But the point of a diptych or triptych is to tell a story using two or three photos side-by-side. In this case, the overall story is more important than the amount of details in each one. It gets the point across more succinctly.

Here's my example: http://www.pbase.com/image/17751437

Yes, that is true, and it's even more clear in your case, 'zeroscan'. Your triptych is great and when telling stories with many images, this is the way to go. I wasn't sure what it meant, I thought you meant putting three random pictures from the same location together just to cut down on space or something like that. My bad, I'm sorry for not understanding :?
