WINNER of the 93rd Show & Tell Competition - "LOOKING DOWN"

Post Sat Aug 09, 2008 4:22 pm

Thanks to everyone who participated in "LOOKING DOWN." Contest link here - http://form.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=38320
There were several very good entries. Shortlisting all the entries actually gave me a headache. Anyway here are my choices...

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

When I first saw this photo I knew that it would be among the winners. I love everything about it - beautiful lines, movement of the people walking, green tiles and most of all those orange windows! Good job!

2nd PLACE: jaac

When I thought of the subject "looking down," I did not really think there would be any portrait entries. However, I was very pleased when I saw this pretty little girl looking at me. I am very fond of portraits of little girls beacuse I have a little girl myself. The tight crop on this one made this photo a great one. Well done!

There were several shots of stairs in this contest but this one was the best of the lot. In fact, for me, it was the best of all the "looking down" entries. The use of the fish eye lens gives this photo that "spiraly" look. Looking at it for the first time gave me the feeling of going down the flight of stairs and "meeting" the woman at the bottom - which actually made this photo an excellent one. B&W conversion on it is tops as well. Congratulations michaelburlakphotography!!! :D

I had an excellent time hosting the 93rd edition of this contest. :D

michaelburlakphotography, 94th is all yours! :D

Michael's is so reminiscent of the opening of a lens shutter too. A truly amazing image.

Chuck, could you make a link for each photo to the larger one so that we can go
visit their sites? That's normally done. I couldn't make the image or text link
go to the larger photos (and I don't want to go through the whole listing of entries
again right now).

Thanks!

Chuck, sorry to be picky -- but I meant links from their little mediums to the
actual larger image (normally this works if you just remove the "/medium.jpg"
from the links you made. Thanks for all the work.
