I have bought tons of stuff from B&H and also Beach Camera (like close to 40k worth in the past two years) and have had no issues.

However, lately I have been buying from NewEgg.com and they have also been fantastic and their prices seem to be considerably better than Beach or B&H.

Buying digital cameras online

Post Mon Oct 01, 2007 6:12 pm

I've bought from BUYDIG.com online and found the cheapest price on what I was looking for at the time, plus quick & reliable service/shipping. I've also bought at B&H but in their store in NYC; excellent service and good price on a just-released item at the time.

believe it or not, amazon is actually pretty good. they honor us warranties, no tax, and free shipping. prices are competitive with 17th st, adorama, cameta, etc. -- all of which are also vendors. but you only get free shipping if you go through amazon.

bestpricecameras.com

Just a question--has anyone tried to buy the new 40D from bestpricecamaras.com? they are selling the 40D body only for 499. The price is half of what B&H sells the camera for online.

Any comments would be appreciated. If you prefer to write to me directly, you can write to iamarika@aol.com

thanks

I went seing this link and I found B&H advertising on the web site? I also went to http://www.shopcartusa.com/BestPriceCamer/Details/ and comments are highly different.
I also visited this link http://www.shopcartusa.com/P_Canon_EOS_ ... _1901B004/
How can the price vary from 379.00 to 1015.00?
What to think?
Thanks

Best Place to buy digital Stuff

Post Sun Dec 09, 2007 11:21 pm

i checked some reviews on bestpricecameras and they don't look good, i wouldn't buy from any place that has the item too cheap.

i like B+H photo but they seem a little more expencive on some things
and when i was trying to find a good place to get Canon's new 40d i tried a lot of online stores but (i found that you have to call and ask them if it is an import or not) as they will say it a USA warranty but they don't tell you it is threw them not canon, i had a hard time finding a place that was honest and had them in stock (as B+H was out)
but i found https://www.onecall.com/ProductSearch.a ... BCPID=2088 (they only sell USA models:-) so i ordered my 40d on thursday and got it monday:-) and best thing is there price was $50 less then B+H :-)

anyway

I havd the Canon 20d and I love the new features of the 40d and am saving up for the wireless transmitter:-)

How about 47thstreetphoto.com

Post Sun Dec 16, 2007 7:50 pm

I am a newbie searching for a better quality lens than the standard Canon 18-55mm. I found great prices from 47thstreetphoto.com. Has anyone used them before. I found them on Ebay w/ >124K positive responses Prices appear $20 cheaper or more than B &H. Any comments would be appreciated. One more thing, how can you be positive that the items are not gray market?

Thanks,

Mike

if you don't get it from a well known site you should call and ask if they are grey market otherwise get em from http://www.bhphotovideo.com (i think all there lenses are usa) or https://www.onecall.com/ProductSearch.a ... BCPID=2088 (they only sell USA models:-) and seem to beat b+h most of the time:-) i like the 28-135 for a general lens but my fave is the 70-200 2.8 is usm
Canon
40d / 20d / 28-135 is usm / 70-200 2.8 is usm / 2x converter / 100 macro / 18-55 / 580ex flash / want the wft-e3a transmiter digitaldesta.com

I generally buy from B&H, but they are so popular that on certain items they'll sometimes be out of stock. For example, last summer I was wanting to buy a 500 f/4, and every time I was ready to pull the trigger and order it, B&H was out of stock on it, as was Adorama. I'd read some good recommendations for Allen's Camera, but they don't have an online store. I'm usually all about online shopping so it's very rare that I'll deal with a place that doesn't have a web presence. However, I called and they said they had plenty of the 500 f/4 in stock, and it was $100 less than B&H! They were great to deal with on the phone and I'd definitely recommend them, especially in that type of situation. Actually in some ways it could be advantageous that they are not online, since with high-demand items they might be more likely to have them in stock.

B&H Adorama or Roberts are all excellent and I have dealt with them over 'net no problems. Order of weekend and if you're in midwest it's 2-3 day UPS ground shipping to your door. Great !
