Gee. That's really shocking to hear. Yes: There are alot of printing forums out there, but I would have thought that this would be a place to discuss the magic of making extra-ordinary prints.
I've been a devout print-making idiot for a long time. I've had many printers, messed around with lots of paper types and hooked up my Monaco Optix colorimeter more times than I can count. One thing is for certain; getting the perfect print takes a lot of resources, fiddling, patience and good luck.
I just traded in my Epson 2200 right at the tail end of my CompUSA warrantee <heh> and got a new R2400 for $150.00 (Woohoo). This thing rocks when it comes to printing on Epson Velvet FIne Art and sucks up ink like an old Cadillac uses gas, but........
My home is littered with Super B prints. I get my clip frames from Quadro and then I go to Michael's to get heavy black paper to mount to.

These guys are super cheap, send on time and gracious fix problems if there are any.
Best of luck! I'll help if I can.
