Hugh - Escuela Pedro de Mendoza in Argentina.


Ken - Cafe scene in Paris.


David - a boy in the streets of Shanghai.


There is very little that separates the three winning images.

3rd place:
Marcus - Shoes of the worshippers. It leaves to the imagination who are the shoe owners and what they may look like.


2nd place:
Jeff - a derelict building in Iceland but having a new life with the street art painted on its walls.


1st place:
Walter - the End of the Border - an illustration that the price of preventing people from crossing borders is measured in lives lost.

Good choice of theme. I liked the variety of submissions. Congratulations to all who participated.
Thank you for choosing my image as the winner. Coincidentally, I lived less than twenty miles from the West/East German Border in the 80's and now live less than twenty miles from the U.S./Mexico border where the photo was taken.
Both borders were/are heavily fortified and guarded. One border was created to keep people in and the other to keep people out.
How different and how similar they are.
