Second Place: Marisa Livet, Scenic Sunset of a Winter Day. The silhouette against the beautiful sunset shows how this large, arching tree defines a place along the shore.


First Place: Ken Zaret, Stand of Aspen Trees. Perfect show case of an Aspen forest.The light is perfect for white bark, the composition and focus provide a real sense of depth and distance. Great photograph.

Congrats to Ken and other winners, and a big thanks for an HM Glad I didn't have to judge this competition with all the great entries.

Thanks very much for the choice of my photo. Great topic and there were many creative entries!
My shot was taken on a tripod with a tilt-shift lens, with a lot of shift to get the trees straight from where I was standing. I haven't used the lens near as much as I should.
I will enter another contest tonight.
