438th Show & Tell Competition: Streets - WINNER

This was an instructive exercise, with more variety in the entries than I anticipated. It seems that you capture the mood and atmosphere of a street in so many ways: just buildings and shadows, or you can include a single figure, or a line-up of people, or a bicycle or a taxi or a cat. They all work. The only way I could judge them was by imagining how pleased I would be with myself if I had taken the photograph. Is that what other people do?
Honourable mentions to:

Robin Lew

That's a great gallery this came from!

Markus Grompe

Three very different pictures, but I liked the foggy one.

Alla Gilbourd

The range of colour makes this photograph special.

Third place to the lovely understated black-and-white by David Decroix:

Second place to Peter Schultz's evocation of a New York street. It's the rule-breaking spontaneity that made me laugh, and had me examining all the details in the corners in "original".

Enrico Martinuzzi's "Genova" was a stand-out winner for me. It ticks all the boxes. A wonderful picture.
