A hearty thank you to all entrants. There were a lot of excellent entries to choose from, so let me tell you what I looked for. First, I looked for what I felt were interesting images by asking - did they pull me into the landscape? Second, if they pulled me into landscape, was it the people in the landscape that drew me in? Third, if the people in the landscape drew me in, what would the image look like if there were no people? I felt the best images were the ones where the people in the image enhanced the overall impact of the landscape, adding to it, yet not overwhelming the landscape.

A beautiful evening sunset brimming with activity from ducks on the water streaming towards the photographer to people enjoying a stroll along the riverwalk. Beautiful rich ambiance.

I like how a strong diagonal leads your eye to the sunset, and how the reflection disappears into the waves. In the middle of this vibrant triangle are people underneath the pier animated with color and movement. Captivating image.

A soft misty warm glow sets the mood for this pleasing image. The texture of the mist gives way to two early morning sailors setting forth for the day's journey. A classic.

I like the simplicity, the pastel sky, the moon, the light on the wall, and the pensive posture of the person. I like how the eye is drawn immediately to the edge of the wall where the person then draws the viewer's attention. A masterpiece.

Light captured with scale, tone, and texture that Ansel would be proud of. Integral to the viewer understanding the enormity of this landscape is a person who also happens to be standing near the light which is what draws you in immediately. Bravo!
