A full page of pictures taken on the 17th Oct 2010 amongst the Afghan people trying to live a better life after thirty years of war, a glimpse of an improvement in their lives which may all be thrown away due to a failure to understand this complicated country by leaders who listen to those who are so called experts who have no on the ground understanding of the Afghan culture. Opportunities were missed, so called experts palm off or fail to inform others of other people that have more knowledge as it may threaten their positions. This is of course my opinion based on what I know and what I have observed, the sad thing is the opportunity was there but wrong paths taken but what do you expect when the blind are leading.
There are many unsung heroes working out here who put their lives on the line trying to improve the quality of the lives of the Afghan people, some have paid the ultimate price others continue that good work. Sadly the media without realising it have approached covering Afghanistan in the wrong way, only to strengthen the Taliban psychological warfare and play into their hands.
