I love the challenge of taking photos of birds. They never sit still for you and you never know what they'll do next. These were all taken right in my own backyard.

Great detail!!
Here is Killdeer with the broken wing routine.
It would strike this interesting pose whenever I got too close to it. It would squat down and while squawking like a distress bird displayed this beautiful and very unusual pose. I believe they mimic, in this way, an injure bird to draw predator’s attention from a nearby nest

Yes, they are shy but they love peanuts.
