Having only a digital point & shoot, slr type, Panasonic FZ-18 I got a couple...these are in my Insects, Spiders & Creepy Crawlers (http://www.pbase.com/cits_4_pets/insects) ...put the moth here hoping someone can id it.
this was outside on a dual pane window that I shot through...moth not sure what it is...not a pretty thing..
Checkerspot Variable seen on Mt. Diablo in California.
My very 1st butterfly-actually a moth I shot was this Confuse Eursarca Moth:

These are not as good as most of the butterfly shots here but at least I tried!

I visited the Cockrell Butterfly Center for the first time last week at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. It is actually pretty tough to get images as these guys are always flitting around here and there. Pretty nice little guys, if you sit on a bench you're bound to have a few light on you.
