Ahh, sadly I don't even recall having heard the music. I was walking past and realized after that it would make a good scene, so I turned and just took a quick shot. One of those "Got someplace to go" modes.

As for street photography, hiding hasn't been the answer for me. I'm a bit shy about it still, but I get into the mode better when I just become part of the scene and don't try to hide at all.

George, nice soft tones on this. I’m curious as to how the music sounded, and what sort it was...they hardly look like rock band members. I’m guessing jazz.

Ilan, nice variety of moods here.

Darter, love the parade shot, and great catch with the mom and kid “in sync!” The couple walking in the woods is great...nice composition.

Ang, kinda scary. I’m glad she’s only cutting ham...this time anyway!

Sue and Northstar, you know I’m a big fan of kid pics, and these are two wonderful ones!

Bill, love that dad and baby shot! The guy sleeping on the sidewalk appears to be snoring...cool! And I like the football player too.

Jill, two nice shots. You must have a terrific camera. Love her expression in the second.

Jo, for someone who “aint that good at these candids” you sure took some magnificent pics! Some really excellent shots here...among the best I’ve seen.
Some would benefit from Photoshop...you can get rid of those colored speckles in the shadow area (think that’s in my “tips” thread, before MM’s rants began...page 1 or 2.) And I’d tone down the color in the boat pic a bit.

Gene, gotta love the hat lady! Great find!

Me too. And also there’s the possibility they might notice and not appreciate it. Another good use for a telephoto lens!
