Gene, I have always enjoyed your hawks and eagles. I have never seen a bald eagle in person. I hope to see one when I go to Wisconsin next month.

Eagles are awesome birds to see. I thought I'd never see one in my lifetime when I was younger. If your ever around Davenport IA in January, stop by lock and dam 11!

Hope you see one in Wisconsin, but I suspect they are further North now, unless you are way up there.

Cheers,
Gene

Gene, Do I understand you correctly that the bald eagles are in the States only for the Winter? What about the Rockies in Montana and
Canada in August?

Ain't no mountains here :) Most of the eagles migrate down the big wintersinto the midwest in the winter ,then back up before spring. A few stay and nest. Those eagle shots of mine are from December and January on the Mississippi.

Worked hard to get some good shots of these little guys this past winter. Anyone whose ever tried to shoot them knows they don't sit still for very long.

And I got to within about 20 feet of this gorgeous creature, thanks to my good buddy Trimoon!

Since I live on the West Coast of Florida, these beauties are very plentiful and such a treat to watch;

And I must say there are some really outstanding images in this thread. Too many to mention, keep them coming.....

Just a Mourning Dove, but liked the color the evening light gave the photo.

I really find this purpleish blue background sure isn't ideal for displaying photos. A neutral grey or black would be much better.
