I absolutely love that you bumped this. It amazes me how you hate this dude so. Your chain is too easy to yank.
I hope he never stops posting so I can be assured you will be gnashing your teeth every time he does. You amaze me

time to bump my reply :)

The best thing going on this forum is the mouse (assuming you have one of course). With the mouse you can program it BY HAND so that if it hovers ever so briefly over linked text like say "Street Photography" it will not open the file unless you use the manual over ride; the left click. I use this all the time. You should try it.

Thanks, I saw your reply the first time around. The problem with your method, however, is that its not particularly helpful when 98% of S & T is "Street Photography" :P That's why the method originally explained at the start of this thread is preferable ... (ie the "Foe" technique) :)

My original reply was based on the Ginghis dude posting ten or so per day. After reviewing the list below I can agree that it goes beyond reasonable to post so much.. of ANYTHING . I have just sent him my views. Even so I don't spend as much time here as many of you so I can see that you may be feeling robbed of some ego.

Cheers

FORUM - SETTINGS - ADD FRIENDS/FOES

Much more fun now to walk through "Show+Tell"

The FORUM - SETTINGS - ADD FRIENDS/FOES seems to be a simple option if you do not want to see someones art.
That is why it is there, to filter what you want to see, or not see.

BTW ... Mr. Wong's posting do not bother me like it does others.
The option can be used on more than one person.

every time i come to the forum i see his name as last poster, no matter that i hide his postings - this way i know that he still floods the forum

but since you seem to be a friend of him, why not tell him to start ONE thread for all of his postings? well, i doubt the freak listens to anyone

I know Mr. Wong from his work, he can read the forum and likely has seen your idea for his posting..
If he feels that is what he wants to do I am sure he will do it, it is not for me to make that suggestion.

The ignore solution is easy and simple for anyone to eliminate who they do not want to see.
To bad that option does not work in real life.

The problem is that guests, new users and those who do not know how to enable the "ignore" function will likely be turned off when they come to a forum with hundreds of posts by the same person with the same title.

I was hoping from Emily's more active participation in the forums and seeing the return of Srijith that maybe, just maybe, an equitable solution could be found to Scott's need to dominate this Forum. Please find some kind of solution as visitors will somehow think he is the only contributor...

Maybe Street photography or Candids should have its own subforum. under show and tell or wherever. This would allow for a dedicated place and unclutter show and tell. Not sure you can ban someone for posting pictures.

Personally I use the ignore function. I took it off a couple of months ago and lasted about 2 days.

I do not understand something, what rule is Mr. Wong violating? If he wants to post many pictures to Show & Tell, so what?
People were complaining of his use of the term in the title, that has changed, now you want him to post less?
The guy keeps the forum active with street work with his many posts of life in his world, is that a bad thing?

If you think his obviously obsessive need to have multiple threads is a good thing then by all means enjoy the Scott Wong Show and Tell Forum supported by all the rest of the Pbase members with our memberships. Technically when you are waiting in line at the coffee shop and someone skips to the front, that person is breaking no law either, but society has certain rules of etiquette in place for us all to get a fair "turn" of service. The same goes for photography forums such as this. Just to say, post multiple threads myself and to be just as disrespectful as Scott is, isn't a solution...just a reward for bad behavior. I'm surprised I even have to explain the obvious.
