Show & Tell Competition: I give up

We would be very happy to make a few people moderators. Basically, if you're willing to do it, just let me know.

I would like to help with Moderating, I am sure a few other folks maybe interested.
Let me think of a few things idea wise for your changes, but like Walter would like to know what you might have planned.
Thanks for the help Emily.

I would help with moderating.

Personnally, I enjoy the competition for one reason - it forces me to take a picture that conforms to the topic. Some times I already have one, some times not. If your looking to challenge yourself, this is a great way to do it for those who don't already challenge themsleves with a PAD.

One rule would be nice... if it places (1st, 2nd, 3rd), you can't enter it again.

I would also try and help......as I often enter this fun contest......
One thing I would like to see is we start it on the same day every week and end it on the same day, this way everyone would know it starts on a Monday and say ends the following Saturday. This would give time for the host and the new winner time to get ready for the next Monday........

Cheers...Mike

Posting the challenge on Monday and ending it on a Saturday is a great idea Mike. This would add a routine that participants would get used to. I co-host the weekly Challenge on the PaD Forum and we always post the challenges Friday morning U.S. time and participants have until Monday to post their entries. There are no winners, but participants can always expect the new challenge on the same day at approximately the same time.

Walter

Heavy seconded on THIS topic. Emily, you really have let Scott get away with practically destroying the Show and Tell Forum. The man needs psychotherapy.

If this forum, and all other forums for that matter, had active moderators who could ban subscribers who abuse the "rules" of the forum this problem would be easily solved.

And so it goes again..... 232 posted 3 days after 231's results, and now about to go into the third day after 232 closes and still no results.... *sigh. Only 1 month left on my account, and I'm wondering if it's even worth it to keep.

It is worth it, $24 a year, I likely will be here till the close the doors, this is frustrating and I had hoped this would not happen again.
The contest needs a Moderator or go back to self moderating like we did before the automation.

So let me get this right, you don't want a moderator for street photography, but you want a moderator for the contest?

Walter please do not put words in my mouth. The contest had Moderators as a collective group of people when it was not automated.
We all would address the issue like we have now and would have moved on, based on the *Rules* and guidelines.
When slug and Emily were kind enough to automate the process we lost the collective moderation we once had in place.

Walter you have been civil in the exchanges with me about rules and guidelines in other areas of Show and Tell.
Other people have not and I have lost all respect for them when they use vile terms, all the while talking about proper etiquette, they are hypocrites.
I have no desire to be associated with them in any way, or as little as possible as I can while still enjoying PBase.

I was pointing out that no one was breaking any website rules, in the case of the contest rules have been broken.
One was a grass roots contest setting our own guidelines the other issue is a website forum issue, apples and oranges.
