Was in Piazza Signoria in Florence at the copy of Michelangelo's David which stands there in place of the original now,
those are the legs -- and a band appeared with unusual garb, so I took a few (rare?) shots of the scene.
I recently found I even took a brief videoclip with my point & shoot of this from a distance.

Image

The 'conductor' of the band with unusual 'baton' - from Florence4 gallery.
- Clicking the image brings up the image page with link to videoclip.

I was out shooting a parade and I spotted this little girl - spectator.
Just before I shot, she bent over to get a different perspective of something.
Everyone who sees this photo wants to know what she's looking at.
I have no clue.

sat down after walk when a butterfly decided to land on us (possibly attracted by the suntan lotion we used):

I'm always following the Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds around our garden, trying to capture them nectaring from different blooms.
This one found a bloom that fit just a little too snug... and made for a nice shot :)

I was walking back to my car and decided to point the camera at this statue at 300mm. I wasn't planning on photographing it, but did.

While visiting an Avian Conservancy in South Carolina, the staff displayed several types of birds. Many of them were able to fly. This hawk landed very briefly on this gentleman's tripod and I'm not sure who was more surprised. Had no clue that I had actually gotten the picture until later.

It was my birthday 3 years ago, we'd been out for lunch and then went for a walk at a local beach as it was such a beautiful day. I was just walking along the beach looking for something to photograph. My wife and children were playing and my son (5 at the time) decided they wanted to pretend to be aeroplanes, so the three of them started running along the beach being aeroplanes, so I just took a snap.

It's still one of my favourite pictures.

So I was out on a photo walk with some fellow photographers taking pictures of a historic area of town. I had my 100-400 mounted because I was about to take a picture of the top of an old windmill. Suddenly this hawk swoops in and lands on top of the museum next door.
