Rodentia is an order of mammals also known as rodents, characterised by two continuously-growing incisors in the upper and lower jaws which must be kept short by gnawing.
Forty percent of mammal species are rodents, and they are found in vast numbers on all continents other than Antarctica. Common rodents include mice, rats, squirrels, chipmunks, gophers, porcupines, beavers, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, degus, chinchillas, prairie dogs, and groundhogs.

Possums are marsupials. A lot like koalas and kangaroos. I think it is the only marsupial in North America. Looks more like a rodent than a kangaroo, though.

If you look mid way down the preceding page, you'll find that others beat you to it.

My latest: http://www.pbase.com/cits_4_pets/image/105313264 From my gallery of pet Pocket Pals. Rats have such a bad reputation and I am trying to show that they make good pets and are quite cute and amusing photo subjects. http://www.pbase.com/cits_4_pets/my_rats

Beware rodent, beware!
I really do appreciate if you could leave a comment. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Images are clickable & best seen in large size...and we are not stinky, pesty animals but loyal and loving companions. We need all the positive support we can get....

Nice pet but possum is not a Rodent. It is a marsupial (pouched mammal).
