Carol is obviously a diver and it was so hard to pick one image as there are some great under-water images in her galleries. I finally picked this one for amazing colours and intriguing subject.

I see this image quite a lot. A low angled view of rocks with whispy water over the top. What I like apart from the colours, compostion and light is the added industrial feel with the silhouette in the background and I think that this adds in interesting twist. It's a great photo and out of them all this was the one I returned to.

not so sure that was a safe picture... but ok. good thing I didnt click the link at work. On a side note, can we please label all links like that as NSFW? lol

Here is my choice of yours... love the composition and the lighting.

I think the whole Line gallery concept is fantastic and full of diverse stunning images. The lighting on this one and the way it falls directly into the centre of the frame marks it out as my favourite...

Some great shots in every gallery I looked in, but my favorite is this one:

Very nice composition, and the puppy adds a nice sense of story.

Wow! This thread is still kicking!!! So here is my favorite from Peter.
There is so much to like. From basic photography, it has great exposure, especially given the lighting conditions. It follows the rule of thirds on several planes. It also uses the angle of the road to give a great sense of depth. On top of that, it opens a story in your mind. Who is the person? Are they dangerous? Are the in jeopardy? Are they scared? If not, should they be? It's a picture you keep looking at to find more details. Great shot.

I really like this topic. It is very educational to hear why a particular photo catches someone else's eye.

With that in mind, this is the photo that caught my eye right away out of the many great photos on CHASP's site. Why? It has to be the mystery and solitude of the setting. And how did CHASP get that stunning dark image of the ship against the pale background? My eye goes right to the image and I want to know more. Is this a ship in a setting where this ship is still common? Is it a replica? Where isthis? OK, if you go to his gallery you will know the answers to all these questions except how he managed to acheive the contrast between the ship and the landscape. Good job CHASP, whoever you are.

Carol has some nice diving pictures, but the one I like the most is from above the water. I have a thing for red rocks, especially when contrasted with a blue sky and this shot is really well executed. The colours are amazing as is the DoF. Carol makes perfect use of the golden cut rule, but leaves two rock formations at the corners in perfect symmetry to break the rule just enough to make the shot even more intriguing. Very well composed!
