The famous Montmartre Stairs that lead you to Sacré-Cœur church in Paris, France. There is something about them that look incredibly amazing at night. They give you that spooky feeling.

Out of all my sports images from 2009 this is from a practice session at Laguna Seca and one that I really like.

Main Alter, Mont St. Michael, France

Why I like this shot is because of the amount of time I took to compose it. One of the few times where what I was looking for actually came through. I'd like to think it is experience, but it's probably luck. :D

It may not be my personal favourite image that I have taken so far this year but this one was Commended by the judges in the Sunday Times 2009 Landscape Photographer of the Year competition. This is a national UK competition which attracts thousands of entries every year, so I was well pleased to be initially short listed and then to receive a commendation in the final selection. It has been awarded a place in the awards book which is published on the 31st October and it will also be displayed as an exhibition print at London's National Theatre between 5th December 2009 and 24th January 2010 along with the other winning entries.

Travelling through many countries I saw so many great photo "objects"
When we came on a tiny road..
and saw this simple but effectful view it gave me the special aha feeling...

The decisive moment, unfortunatelly in the second image I was faster than the boy, but I really like it:

I went on another long summer trip this year, but to be honest I wasn't happy with most of my photos, I must be getting too self critical. I wasn't thrilled with the lens either.
