Not many other pictures in that gallery but all worth a careful look.

Thx Gene!!! I nearly fell off my chair when I clicked on your links and found 2 of my own pix!

What a beautiful image. Reminds me of the words of Tagore:

Poppieboy, thanks for linking that image - I really like it and hadn't seen it yet.

While we're suggesting images, I just started looking at your galleries and found one right away that I recommend

Now I've got to look at the rest of your images... :)

Poppie, seems like people mixed with huge architectural forms makes for good photos, doesn't it? I was thinking it's the contrast between the two that does it, then realized that those massive striking geometric forms of glass and steel and stone were made by people like those pictured below in the first place. Intriguing.

CJ, I too wondered if that had been posed, but then I found the original, in color, and by the context of the gallery you know it's for real. I like it even better in color:

And I also really liked these pics from that gallery:

It's a fascinating gallery on an fascinating, and tragic, topic. Thanks for sharing it with us, Poppie.

Phyllis, you seem to be able to tell how many votes a certain image has received. How do you do that?

Hi All,

Relatively newcomer to this forum, but been on base awhile. Phyllis and the gang sparked my interest down here. Anyhow, thought I'd share a wonderful photo that was taken by a friend here on pbase. Bill Pruitt took this image and finally posted it today;

Enjoy!

The number is posted along with the image in the Popular Photos gallery. Go to pop galleries and click on "photos" to switch from galleries to photos and you see the numbers in parentheses. They don't have that yet for the galleries...too bad.

E-pixa has a marvelous summer Alps gallery. How I would love to walk down this path just once!

Bill, that nude at sunrise really is a good photo. I usually don't care for nudes since I'm not a guy, I suppose. :) But this picture is really well done.

And thanks for introducing me to Lars Carlstrom's galleries...I love his tree with bands of color...your last posted link. I also found these in his galleries:

Great gallery by Michael Jardine based on "The Book" published in 1987 about their climbing experience:

A fraud perhaps

Post Mon Jan 19, 2004 3:43 pm

Hey All,

I know I'm new to the forums here and I like all the links, however after I visited the nude sunrise shot alluded to in a couple of post back, I thought I'd visit the rest of the site.

There are copyrights and different studios names on some of these photos and I clearly recognized a style of portrait that was not this persons, but rather Ron Kramer's.

The nude sunrise which I don't believe pixelate took is here;

http://www.pbase.com/image/20866247

Ron's Pirated image is here;

http://www.pbase.com/image/21706721 which is the same gallery but on page 3.

Ron confirmed this.

Rons work is here, see for yourself;

Not trying to start trouble, but this gallery is clearly a fraud and not worthy of a vote.
