Bird ID help

I came across this bird a few years ago on a beach in Pacific Grove CA, just south of Monterey. It just sat there and let me get close without reacting. I assume that meant it was sick. Haven't seen one like it before or since so any ID help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Turns out the bird is a Murre also called a Gullimote
