First Go At Macro

Post Sun Mar 21, 2010 1:03 am

Just bought myself a 50mm macro lens and took a couple of quick shots of some flowers.

These are all hand held taken in regular room lighting using my new Canon 7D - gotta love being able to shoot at high ISOs.

Thanks for the advice.

You were right. I re-uploaded them, but I think you have to actually click the image if you want to see the sharpened version

Here are a few more shots.

Not sure if this is my "thing" but at least its something to shoot in my area.

Hi Akeigher,

here is my try:

It was taken also with the 7D, but with a 90mm macro lens from Tamron. Did you hear about the software Helicon Focus? This technic is very useful for better sharpness... but I am also only beginner in the macro field and waiting for the summer :)

cheers
Lars

I just got the Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. Yay for impulse purchases!

Here are a few quick handheld shots I took in the backyard today. Love the fast focus on it - much better than the Sigma. And I love that my lens does not get longer as it focuses! That was an annoying part of the Sigma.

I hope to take some more planned shots next weekend. Today was overcast and windy, so it was hard to keep the flowers still.
