Animations
In order to create an animated Gif image, you need to use a program that's been designed for that purpose. The more specific it is to serving that purpose, the better its performance will be in ease of use and file optimization. There are however a few new graphics programs out there that have been designed to fulfill more than just this one function, and still work nicely for creating animations. These programs are geared more toward the Web designer crowd, and will also help the Web/Graphic Artist to compress, compile, and even slice'n'dice images for placement within table cells on a Web page. And on top of all that, they also provide a small amount of painting and/or drawing capabilities for the more experienced artist. I use Adobe ImageReady...

Be sure to view these in "ORIGINAL" size otherwise they will not be animated!

My animations are a little different. They were created completely and solely in Photoshop CS3. The only animations that I tried using photographs were of storm clouds that were rolling through the neighborhood. They were composed of around 30+ images that were converted into .gif files and animated through a program called UnFreeze.exe. The files just were not long enough for me to like them.

These are great!
I found a very simple animation program yesterday which was so easy it doesn't require more than a couple of minutes playing around to learn. Thought I'd pass it on in case anyone is looking for a freebie:
