Alaskans can't do 4th of July fireworks because it never gets dark so we do our celebration on Jan 1. Here are some shots done at our daughter's house.

Looks like fun! In the Netherlands, it is a tradition to set off fireworks at midnight at new years eve. Pretty much everyone does it, and some of the individual displays rival those of the professionals. I had a great view from the 13th floor balcony at my cousin's apartment. The big one in the background, right side, is part of the official new years eve celebration of Amsterdam. Everything else is non-professional.
