Critique My Photo Thread

This is a simple idea that could be both fun and useful.

The idea is you post a photo for the next poster to critique, then the next person writes his comments and posts a picture of his own.

Ideally, this should be a thread that can help us become better photographers by getting honest critique about our work. Its always helpful to have someone else look at your work and give feedback.

Be honest, even if its a negative critique - but always be nice about it. The goal is to help us all grow.

So here is my submission. Something I shot a few weeks back. Its best if you click on the photo to view the fullsize image and see the details.

I love the idea, so I'll be the first one to jump in.

First, for your picture: I really like it, it's exactly my cup of tea. I love landscape photography and this picture is an exceptional example of how it should be done. It has a perfect combination of an intriguing background and foreground, which are very well composed together (not to forget the perfect depth of focus). I also like the rays of sunlight shining through the arch at a perfect spot. Again, awesome composition. And last but not least I like the gentle colouring which shows me that this is not only an excellent composition but also a display of great technical skills. All in all, an exceptional picture.


And now, for my picture. Since you set the bar pretty high for landscape photograpy, I'm going a completely different direction with a rather funny shot I recently took at an oper air concert of the popular German a cappela group "Wise Guys". I kinda like the picture without knowing why and I'm really interested in it's appeal to people who were not at the event. So go ahead
