Bird identification?

Post Sun Apr 18, 2010 11:49 pm

Hi everyone

Just captured this bird yesterday on Georgian Bay, Ontario. It had a mate that I didn't get a clear shot of, but I think this is the male (the other didn't have the coloring on the wing and not so much on the face). They flew up into a tree, so they're not ground-bound. Any ideas are appreciated!

Thanks!
Stu

I agree it's a Northern Flicker - beautiful bird - great shot - I don't see mine on the ground very often - usually up in the trees.
