Most of us that have visited Dubai have taken pictures of the iconic buildings such as the Burj Al Arab 7-star hotel. This building plus many others are fantastic, but is this the REAL Dubai? To me the real Dubai is to be found around the creek. This is where the traditional wooden, ocean going Dhows can be found unloading their varied cargos - one Dhow I watched unloaded a beat up Mitsubishi Shogun, followed by a pallet of dehumidifiers, crates of girls toys, and some Sony televisions! I am told that 70% of the cargo going into Dubai is still carried on these fragile looking Dhows.
