Thank you Pbase

I have been a member since 2002 and have been listening and participating in many things here at Pbase. As much as I think it could certainly use a little jazzing up, especially in this Web 2.0 world, I have no complaints against Pbase. In my 7 years so far the only time I was inconvenienced is when a few months ago the site crashed. I have never had it slow down on me, never seen those red x's for more than a few minutes at a time, and I must say that Pbase and its community has been an integral part of my growth as a photographer.

Recently I hit the 7 Million mark in my hit count. Again, i know that this isn't a mark of anything, not even an accurate mark that everyone believes in, but directionally it has been right. I see the right photos getting to the top on the right days, I see the galleries I post recently getting more hits than older ones, i see my galleries in the most voted list continuing to get more hits etc.

Over the years people have found my photos through the internet, my photos constantly come up in the top google searches. I have had my work used in many magazines, websites and people have bought my photos for use and all of this was possible through Pbase.

So on my 7 million celebration, here is a big Thank you to Pbase. I know there is a lot of work to be done, but you can count me in to be there to support you for many more years.

...and as far as pbase goes. Damn good site. Never had it slow down on me. During the blackout I went over to Smugmug. Still have a photo.net account, trekearth (good site), photo.sig (are they still going?) ...still posting here though, so that should say something.

Complaints, sure. Nothing major though and I hope pbase is still going years and decades from now. It should be. It's a great site and one of the most viewed and well known of any photo database site. I don't have 7 million, but I do have 171 countries ...that is a big part of the world.

Karthik...congrats on the 7 million mark!!

Please provide some tips on how to increase the chances of selling photos. I trust that one of the prerequisites is being an exceptional photographer .
