HTML size limit for Gallery Description?

Is there a size limit for how much HTML code can be inserted into the Gallery Description? At times I receive the following error message:

UPDATE gallery failed

The only way to clear it seems to be by reducing the HTML code.

If there is a limit... ...why? ...and how many chars?

yes. there's a limit sorry. 2048 characters.

why? because i haven't fixed it yet.

thanks for the reminder, will try to get to that sooner.
(note it's fixed already for image captions, comments, etc.)

Hey Slug! Is this one still in your *to do queue* I just got that ugly *Update Failed* message again.

Just another reminder in case you forgot. Removing this limit provides much more flexibility in page design. Also, I like long text descriptions at the top of some of my galleries.

whoa. i thought i had fixed this a few months ago.
sorry about that.
i must not have moved the changes to the live servers and then lost the code on my test machine.
unsure. anyway i'll fix it for sure in a few days when i get back from visiting family.

I have come to the limit of the gallery description box too many times. Any due date for having this updated?

I'm building with few other people an FAQ for one of the forum we use. I've been using a gallery and posting the html page in the description with the checkbox marked. Everything worked well so far, but now that the FAQ has grown to a certian size, this started to happen:

I paste the HTML code in the description

Hit update (everything cool "Gallery Update")

Then do display gallery: sometime I see a large portion of the page and "gallery empty" at the end (and then if I refresh the page the description is gone) , and sometime just "gallery empty" from the beginning.

If I then edit the page again my html code has disappeared.

Is there still a limit on the html size? What is the best way to embedd a custom html page in a gallery?
