Background texture?

Hi all,
I am new to this. I am creating my own css and just wondering how can I use a background texture on my page; I mean do I have to write the code and link to some Jpg pattern on Pbase? I have seen somewhere code like this: "background-picture: url (http://etc... ) where are them?
Can I upload a background picture to my gallery and then link to it?
Any hepl will be appreciated

Yes, that is the right way to do it.

1. select a picture for your background, upload to your pbase account
2. use the link of that image in your CSS to specify the background image.

You _could_ ofcourse, just link to some other image in another site for your background image, but just make sure that site allows you to link the image, both technically (i.e. it allows direct linking) and legally (you are not breaking any copyrights)

I think most people just upload one of their images to their own pbase acct. and link to it. If you don't want that image to show up in regular image browsing, mark it as private
