Hiding captions for "root" gallery

Hi,
I want my root gallery to just show the image thumbnails and not the gallery name text below.

For non-root galleries, its as simple as simply unchecking the 'show image titles with thumbnails'. However, this does not work with the root gallery.

Also, ofcourse, its not possible to just not write anything for the gallery name - even if I dont have a title, the gallery name is displayed.

I tried a color:white in thumbnails and thumbnail classes did not work. I cannot do a display:none since everything will disappear.
