How to add border on hover with alexc css?

I'm using the alexc stylesheet, and I want to modify it so that when the mouse hovers anywhere over the thumbnail (including the caption) a border appears. Everything I've tried resizes the thumbnail area on mouseover. I've spent an inordinate amount of time trying to figure this out, and I've searched the forum as well. Is there a straightforward way of doing this? Thanks in advance for any help.

See if this works for you. I added a hover frame. And, a frame for the photo. And, changed the ugly color for the first letter in the title. Anyway, you can customize the colors as you see fit! Also, you might want to consider re-sizing your photos. That's been discussed often in these forums .
