Lost all my flash too,
nothing to do with Pbase itself,
microsoft launched some other security updates, the reason

Adepted myself by putting all my flash on a personal provider,
linked up with Pbase.
Enjoy

My flash was on my own site and linked.

here was my code

Code: Select all
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://hodad66.com/pbase-blk-hdr.swf" width="1000" height="300" align="center"><param name="movie" value="http://hodad66.com/pbase-blk-hdr.swf" /></object>

It's also still working in my profile!!

This is not a Microsoft thing, it is indeed a pbase issue. Microsoft did axe some code a while back in IE, which made me change all my code but it is unrelated to those of us who use that different code. For myself I am not even using Internet Explorer and the issues exist on both my windows and linux based system. Also our code is still working in our profiles.

indeed
after seeing the flash in the intro of hodad66 I had to believe that Pbase had changed something but the microsoft extra frame bothered me also that I finally have put all on my provider, problem microsoft and Pbase solved both in the same time.

Can someone point me to a gallery where you had placed the flash header but which is not working now? Also, could you also share with us/me the actual HTML you had placed to get the header to work in the first place?

I have a nagging suspicion about this, but will explain more if I can confirm it.

Here is an example page: http://www.pbase.com/jeffreyk/allevents

Here is the code I have added:
Code: Select all
<div id="overlay"><center>
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://jeffreyklassen.com/events.swf" width="780" height="675"><param name="movie" value="http://jeffreyklassen.com/events.swf"></object></center>
</div>

Here is the code that comes up in the page source:
Code: Select all
<!-- BEGIN user desc -->
<div id="overlay"><center>
<param name="movie" value="http://jeffreyklassen.com/events.swf"></object></center>
</div>
<!-- END user desc -->

It appears they are stripping object type and such, I know what your nagging suspicion is and i really hope its not so, because that would be a deal breaker for me :( The thing that has me confused is my profile still works fine.

Yup, PBase is at it again. Knowingly or otherwise they are stripping away all references to 'object' html tag.

Of course there are ways around it but I am sure when people start using these workaround, they will be closed as well.
