More Stylesheets please....

PBase is the biggest photo sharing website in the internet and patronised by many photo enthusiasts and professionals. But I can't believe there only a few stylesheets available to choose from. Currenly, I don't really like the stylesheet that I'm using. But there is no other stylesheets to choose from that is better looking than the one I'm using now. I'm not an expert in HTML so I could not customized my stylesheet. Competition if offering more options to their stylessheets...but PBase? hmmmm....I'm very sure that if this request is granted, I know I'm not the only one who will be very happy but thousands of those who continue to patronise this site.

Some ready-to-use stylesheets can be found at
http://pbasewiki.srijith.net/css_bank

Also, if you really like someone's stylesheet more often than not they would be willing to share the CSS code with you, if you ask :)

Actually we have thousands of Stylesheets to choose from. Every customized gallery is using one (every gallery used one as a matter of fact) and YOU CAN USE THOSE. How? See the source code, grab the second .css url that links to the stylesheet and save it. Then edit that as you wish using our tutorials at the PBase Wiki (Srijith already gave you the URL).

A few more recomendations:
- Ask theguy/girl if you can use their CSS... It´s more polite, and makes the guy feels better. You can use it without asking but it´s better to ask; there is no good reason for not doing so.
- If you use it, try to add the original URL from where you took it, so other fellow pbasers can see what you might have changed.
- If there is a copyright (or copyleft) declaration in the CSS the right thing is to keep it that way.

Hope this helps
Matias

That is an excellent idea! I think I'll make a gallery of the stylesheets I use as well. A good place to point people if they need a new stylesheet but don't have the time to fiddle around with making one themselves.

Inspired by thierry, I created a little resource for fellow Pbasers.

The good thing about this whole exercise is that it has forced me to clean up my stylesheet list...which was out of control.

I'm continuing to work on it and will add additional stylesheets as I go on.

So, for those pbaser's who wish to try out a different stylesheet, hop over to http://www.pbase.com/pinemikey/pinescsslibrary

Welcome to use this

Thanks Thierry. I did those stylesheets because many guys (Arjun, Sri, Alan, Nigel, Mikey, L.O.T.Badgers, etc) helped me and I wanted to return the favor. Many of those stylesheets have being used in the most popular galleries on PBase and that is just great for me. But what I really enjoy (as a *pay*) is to see others change things, modify the original look and make improvements.
I encourage you and others to keep changing the stylesheets so we can have diversity and constant improvements.
Hopefully one day those stylesheets will be added to the PBase Default System. At least now we can have them in our personal libraries and in the PBase Wiki.

Take care and thanks again,
Matías

PS: You should take a look at the Creative Commons licenses. We, at the PBase Wiki, have our ("donated") stylesheets licensed using those licenses.
