Hi,

Question about how PBase servers deal with search engines such as Google? Do they block request from search engines?

Thanks

nope. google is very useful.

of course it can only find public galleries, so if you have something marked non-public, it won't index that. (unless it's linked to from another site and google finds it that way)

Using Google

How does google index the photos? I tried to search google images for several of my photos by the title on the page and could not find them. Does it pick up the title we put on the page, or the actual file name that was uploaded.

I didn't realize that google would pick up our images, that's great!

google particularly likes the title of the image. and then any other text on the page. if you're interested in optimizing search engine results, set the title of your gallery and images to something relevant.

but often you won't find things because google hasn't indexed that page y et.
pbase has roughly 15million pages to look at, and there are some 40-50,000 new everyday. so google can't keep up

google for linda559 and you'll show up at the top.
google for "coonskin park" or "coonskin park photos" for another example that works.
