Click on photo should = 'next' , not 'back to gallery'

Browsing through galleries is much easier on sites like webshots and fotki because clicking on the photo brings you to the next photo in the gallery, not back to the thumbnail page. Here you have to click the relatively tiny 'next' link at the top of the page.

It would be nice if this was added as an option under the 'edit gallery' page.

Unless, of course, you want to go back to the gallery. I don't use next myself because I only want to view the photos that "look" interesting in the gallery thumbnails.

I click on Next all the time and second the request for an easier way.

I'm voting with Chuck on this one for exactly the same reasons he stated. I like to view selectively from the thumb pictures.

Ahh - well that's a good point - although I'll usually end up 'nexting' through the whole gallery, in some galleries i too will only look at a few photos like you said... however, when I am browsing in that way, I usually just hit the [Back] button in the browser... I never click on the photo...

perhaps this can be made a "cookieable" setting like what image size you like to browse at?

i wouldn't want to change behavior since that's how it's been.
and i think the next button is allright since it doesn't move once you find it. you can just keep clicking without moving the mouse.

but the cookieable preference would solve the problem.
will keep that in mind.

Maybe we could than add a feature adjustable in the profile, similar
to the Gallery String? I understand the point of view of not
modifying the way how it was, countless people are accustom
to the function and sure it.

While talking about the Prev/Next buttons, I would be happy if
we had an "Up" function in lieu of the terminating last image
dead Next link. Especially if someone has a gallery having
both images and subgalleries, we currently do not have ability
to traverse them using Next, which might step over the images,
step down into a subgallery and return back up at the end of
a subgallery and proceed to the next image or next subgallery.
