I used to be able to add a single thumbnail & image to my root gallery (As opposed to only creating new galleries). It's been a long time, but I can't seem to do it any more. At my root gallery edit page, I can select the image to upload, but when I hit the upload button, image defaults to my "in box" gallery, or I get an error message saying images can not be added at root level. I must have been able to do this in the past as my root gallery contains thumbnails that link to both galleries and individual pics. Help would be appreciated!
It seems this is no longer possible. If you try to upload directly to your root gallery, there is this title above the upload box. "Upload Photos to your In Box".
I do have an image on my root gallery, in fact it's a slide show of my photo a day gallery, but it's in the "description" box. If you can add a slide show, you can certainly add a single image. Perhaps this is a work around for you.
You can also upload to a folder location, then move it to the "Root" gallery as a work around.
