weird upload issues

I have been having a number of strange upload issues. Sometimes I upload an image only to be told "I do not have permission to eidt this image". I then press the back button and I am in someone else's PBase account! Or, I upload an image and it replaces the image after or before it! Or it refuses to upload the image, or it uploads a different image! It is getting very frustrating!!

It seems I have now been able to upload an image to someone else's PBase account!

I tried to upload an image to my London gallery here:

and ended up loading a photo to Shmuel Halevi PBase account!! I do not know how this happens but it happened!! The image is of the Millenium Bridge in London and can now be found on Shmuel Halevi's account in his bird images, last image if he hasn't already deleted it, labelled "Feeling Happy":

In the ongoing thread about the new servers in the 'News' section (https://forum.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?f ... faca55cb62), there have been a number of reports starting around page five that describe behavior that may be related. It sounds as though the internals are not tracking the ownership of galleries reliably during editing and uploading. I might guess a database corruption, but I neither work here nor have any special insight into the matter. I suspect when the secret key is found a whole bunch of problems will go way -- but it could be a proverbial needle in the haystack scenario.

Now, I have uploaded my specific image successfully, but when I try to upload a replacement image either side of this image, it replaces that image again! In other words, say I have 3 images in a row, 001, 002 and 003. I am trying to replace image 002 with an updated image. I was having enough difficulty uploading image 002 as it uploaded that image to someone else's PBase account as described above. Now, I have tried it again and was successful, but when i try to upload a replacement image either side of 002, it replaces 002 with either 001 or 002.
