Mission statement of PBased needs revisited

Much of the debates can be resolved if the mission of the pBase is clarified. At the beginning, as I recall, PBase is supposed to be a free service for fellow photographers. Later, when the load maxed out the anticipated budget, a donation campaign was called. With not enough voluntary donations, a fee is suggested; and many followed.

In short, the question is that whether the service at PBase is a right, or privilege. I still believe, if I understand the 'original' mission of PBase correctly, we should be happy with whatever available, instead of waving bills and yelling at the site, leave alone one group of users pointing fingers at the other group of users.
