PBase

What are sites named mikappa.image.pbase.com and others starting with mikilo, mikoga, and mikuna?

I am trying to figure out whether something about my firewall is preventing me from seeing the originals of my posted photos (pbase.com/patsysj) and I see that these "sites" are ones I visited.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

pbase runs on a bunch of different physical machines.
i think 17 different servers at the moment.

those particular machines do nothing but serve images.

do you think you're having trouble with only those particular machines?

unsure why a firewall would be blocking one but not the other, but you can test by looking at the following two images.

btw, when linking to pbase from somewhere else, only use urls that start with http://www.pbase.com or pbase.com or forum.pbase.com, etc.
the *.image.pbase.com machines aren't meant to be linked to, and might work or seem to work at first, but won't necessarily continue to work in the future, as the server architecture changes.
