Status Update?

So, do we need to recreate broken galleries, or will they be repaired behind the scenes? I was uploading yesterday while the system starting dying, so I'm not sure if I need to take any action or not. (My affected gallery is http://www.pbase.com/saalwaechter/yafg ).

On a related topic, perhaps a "system status" page on the website would be useful. Then we could see date-stamped messages from the backend system managers like,

"We are currently aware of and working on technical problems."

"The system is now fully functional again. If you are still experiencing problems then ..."
