Hello, can you tell us what the "plan" is for having the site fully functional 24/7? Seems kinda hoakie that more and more of the site keeps getting disabled. Is it a server resource issue or software architecture/redesign needed?

it's a hardware capacity problem.
i disable search because it's disk i/o intensive and 95% of the searches are for "naked girls",etc. so it's a waste in my opinion.
this weekend i'll install another webserver and bring the ram in the database server up to 10GB which will help somewhat.
saving up cash now for the next database server (quad cpu, 16gb+ ram, 28disks) which is the main bottleneck.
basically it's a cash problem, not a knowledge or scalability problem, so it will sort itself out as soon as we get funding.

obviously this is something your've thought about, but is it not possible to cancel searches on basic keywords such as naked, nude etc, if this is wasting so much bandwidth?

Agreed. Purge the lewd photos (could be a full time job)... and filter out the unwanted search terms. Come on people... there are lots of other sites to find nude photos.

Another step toward a solution is make the rules very clear about posting of inappropriate photos. First time offenders get a warning, second time gets banned. This would require using *real* email addresses for everyone. Not Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. Otherwise people just keep making up new free email addresses. Many forums have gone to a *real* email requirement for this reason. It helps keep the banned parties out for good.

How would you define lewd? Perhaps my galleries meet your criteria. I search for some of the same terms on my photos to find other nightclub events and people.

Why do I like the nude photos here instead of other sites you may ask? Its because they aren't california style porn shots. That crap bores me. I want to see an image that impresses me for shadows, style, technique, and general creativity. Maybe I've worked too many years in theater.......................The human body is beautiful and not offensive. It is your religious beliefs that have made it offensive.


As far as your real email address(not hotmail ,yahoo ect.) Get a grip. I never use my isp email address and never bothered to set it up, nor will I( the only thing in my address book is the virus reporting addresses for the anti-virus folks. Most isp allow you to create multiple accounts so all you have to do is delete one and create a new one. Same thing as signing up for another free hotmail/yahoo account.
