some pics not loading

a few of my pics are not loading in this gallery. the first few i think. when cthe thumbnail is clicked the image opens up but with an X on the top left corner. Why is this?

sorry about that.
needed to reboot the main NFS server which stores most of the images.
10:00 UTC has the least amount of traffic since most of usa is asleep.
