new feature: New Galleries Inherit Parent Gallery Settings

Now, when you create a new gallery, it will automatically inherit many settings from its parent gallery. This includes:
- style sheets
- style and thumbnail arrangement settings
- public/nonpublic settings

This should save a few clicks for those of you who always update to your standard style settings after creating a new gallery.
Enjoy!

Emily

This is something I started thinking about over the last few days as the one feature still missing.
You managed to give this to us even before I had a chance to ask for it.

As it is the Jewish new year tommorow I will take the chance and say Happy New year to you and Slug and the rest of Pbase staff and all Pbase users

Thanks
Ilan

It works great - I wondered about that on Saturday when I posted my latest gallery, and it already had the same settings!

GREAT! Did notice it when I started uploading again.

ONE BIG REQUEST: Could you put the "Update" button when editing
an image, at the TOP also so we don't have to scroll down with
each edit of each image when doing/redoing captions?

Comments Under Thumbnails

What would cause my comments under the thumbnails not to show? Yes, the box is ticked to show the comments. The last 3 galleries I have created will not allow this. Any suggestions.

Thanks, Michele

If you mean "Captions" that you typed, it's because anytime you
edit the gallery page involved (description or title of page etc) for any reason, the gallery Captions-display for Thumbnails box (now sort of hidden in "Advanced" options) gets UNchecked (a bug) and you must
go to Advanced options link now after each gallery "full-edit" to check the Captions box again.

Once they are aware of this it's probably not hard to fix. One of the
inevitable bugs when they introduced such great, wholesale improvements recently.
