Embed Videos in Your Image Caption

Hi Everybody,
You can now embed YouTube videos in your image captions by pasting in the code from YouTube. So, if you wanted to have an entry in your gallery that is only a video, do a PBlog upload with no image file, and add the code to the image caption along with any text you would like.
Enjoy!

Thanks. This is very useful for my pblog.
It may be worth mentioning if only the new iframe code should be used or do you also support the old style embed code?

Only the new iframe code is supported. Thanks for pointing that out, Arjun.

Emily, now that you are officially supporting video, I thought I'd mention that unlike images, there is no way to edit a post without an image (but with a video). For example, in pblogs, you can click on any image and you can click on "Edit". But if you want to edit posts with videos, you either need to get to beta.pbase.com/edit (via edit this gallery), or, click on an image post before/after it, click "edit" and then click "prev/next" to exit the video

Another potential bug:
PBase strips out the iframe code if the video link has as "-" character. One of my videos was being removed while others worked. That video has a "-" character in the
http://www.youtube.com/embed/X-XXXXXXX" part.

Hey Arjun,
Videos with the "-" in the url should work now.

PBlog stands for Photo Blog, PBase Blog, or whatever else you can come up with that makes sense. It is a gallery template that lets you display your gallery in more of a blog format with medium sized thumbnails and image captions displayed in the gallery. The original template (what you usually see) displays a table of images.
You can see an example PBlog at

Is this disabled currently with the recent server issues? If not, can we get a step by step for making this work as I have had no luck.

bclaypole,
You can turn any gallery into a PBlog.
Pick a small gallery of yours.
In that gallery go to "edit this gallery" at the top.
In the edit page go down the left hand column to "template".
Click the drop-down menu arrow and select "PBlog" instead of Original.
Go down to the bottom of that section and click the gray "Update Gallery" button.
Back to the top and click "Display this Gallery" and see the change.
It's that simple. Reverse it back to "Original" just as easily.
Apologies

sorry bclaypole,
I thought you were responding to Emily's answer about PBlogs.
I totally missed the title that it was/is about videos. Duh.

Great! Now that we are here: can we also embed 360 degree panorama's from
www.360cities.net? That would be wonderful!
Thanks, Henk

Henk, your wish is granted. I tested a few examples, and they worked fine. If you try something and it doesn't work, just let me know the details. It should work on the image page and in PBlog view.
