Still uneven here. In most cases it's fast, particularly after loading several first pages. But initial login still can take some time. in my case waiting for i.pbase.com as in the past.

It seems there's no improvement when visiting the profile page (40 seconds more or less, as usual).

I think the first time during a day that you visit the profile page it is slow because it is creating new statistics for you. All the next loads of your profile on that day are fast - next day the first load is slow again. I just loaded mine at it was slow (30 secs) the first time, every refresh since then is super fast.

I and others have proposed to turn off the automatic stat routine and create a link so people have to manually refresh.

Yes it's faster. Even now, 9.52pm CET+1 time with the USA fully awake and surfing Pbase.com is very very fast here for me in Denmark, much faster than it's been in months.

Hmm, it seems this is correct. Thank you for the explanation!

Gave up logging on today - after 5 minutes trying to access front page and profile - no improvement here :(

Posting comments seems to take quite a long while. I try to go do something else while waiting for a comment to post. Anyone else experiencing this problem?--Rene

I haven't done many and I didn't notice an issue with the few I did. I think it's fair to say that Pbase is quicker and more consistent than it was during the months long issue, but I wouldn't say it was faster than it was prior to the issue. There still seems to be some sluggishness but not to the point of not being usable.

Yeah thanks for finally updating us on the progress.

It does seem better for the most part but at popular times (6:00pm ~ 8:00pm CST on average) it can still be sluggish.

Flemming, I wrote a pmail to that effect Sunday to management. I think it's clear
that many do not want stats automated when we go to Profile -- because on that
page are the private pmail, the comments, and the guestbook. Of more interest
to many.

BUT if someone does want stats, the delay between getting to profile page
and clicking on Link would be almost nothing.

I've changed my own pbase bookmark (for my own access) to
http://www.pbase.com/comments
to at least see any gallery comments quickly. I click on profile later
only if I want to see private pmails. Almost never do I want stats
(because statcounter is so good and pbase made that easy for us,
for which I'm still grateful).

It just seems to me that it would save so much unnecessary processing
time if accessing Profile page didn't automatically generate all those stats,
nice as they are. I'm doing my bit :-)

Hi Andrys, agree completely. I never use my profile page for anything, I have direct links to pages to comments, stats, pmail, gallery edit, favorite artists etc. - so I never have to go to my profile :)

I haven't had as many of the slow periods as some but this morning posting comments was excrutiating. I noticed that when I clicked on a photo it was downloading from the i pbase.com server and took forever. As did adding the comment.

Perhaps an update on the update. :)

Looks like there is a problem again.
