Really? By who's standards?

My renewal is fast approaching. This year on Pbase has been, let's say, a disaster. And you want me to pay for another YEAR of this?

Listen, it's taken a lot of work, time, and effort to get a gallery of images up. And I'm considering dumping the whole thing because of the abysmal performance the past number of months, and as it seems, is continuing into the future...

It took me 2 months to consider doing renewal with pbase.
The reason is that last year was really awful performance, and I consider it is still really bad.
But, I am a pbase user for a couple of years now, and as Ron said, it is a lot of work setting nice gallery.
I hope that one day we will pay for acceptable performance, because I am seriously thinking about changing pictures hosting.

Wow, this is horribly slow tonight. I can barely view my galleries, let alone edit them. It's taking 30 seconds or more per page load.

Now when trying to post this I get "Oops, you were automatically logged out while you were typing - Logging you back in now - Please hit "Submit" again." after a few minutes of loading...

Is this a joke?

If so, then why are we still having problems in August 2010?

Just this one ..If you try to access the popular galleries..The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, you@example.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

PBase will never change.
Have a good 2011 PBase (self derision).

Dear Pbase,

If these changes were indeed more than simply lip service to secure renewal fees can you please tell me WHY pbase still runs like crap?
For example:

Why is pbase STILL the absolute slowest photoshare website on the internet? Slow to access, slow to upload...just plain slow.
Why pbase STILL runs particularly slow during daylight hours in the United States when other sites run the same 24/7?
Why clicking "update this gallery" doesn't often work, and simply remains in suspended animation unless I manually refresh the page?
Why communication with pbase members in Forums or via email is so SLOWWWW or virtually nonexistent?

Indeed, do tell of all these great improvements ...

Yes, Pbase sure needs to update, big time.
But lets face it. Flickr sucks all to hell, that Megashot site is weak. As for Zenfolio, can't say.

Either way, I'm staying for another year. I want Pbase to succeed, but they may not have the capital unfortunately.

I am still having intermitent problems with extremely slow uploading. Every now and then it seems improved and then seems to revert back. Also the last three groups of photos I have uploaded are very muted color and poor quality. More than the older sets that have been transfered. It seems as if there is a drastic difference in the color of the thumbnails to the actual photos.

I can't comment on the upload speed, but I checked this recent photo: 2011 Amusements of the Day > Sydney. Its color space is ProPhoto RGB and will display with muted colors with non-color managed applications, conversion to sRGB is suggested to ensure compatibility.
